Booking Your Vehicle
How to Book
You can reserve a vehicle from Hertz in a few simple steps. Visit our home page, choose your pick-up location and dates then follow our quick reservation process to complete your booking.

Rental Requirements
Before renting a vehicle with Hertz you will need to familiarize yourself with our rental requirements :
Driving licence
You will need a current, valid driving licence, held for a minimum oftwo years. If your driving licence is not valid, please contact us before booking on +687 26 18 22, as you may not meet our rental requirements.
Age restrictions
You must be at least 23 years old to rent a Hertz vehicle.
Mileage Policy
An estimated mileage is included in your rental rate and a fee may apply if you exceed this estimate. The estimate includes any delivery or collection. Please confirm these details with our team when you pick up your car.
Insurance & Waiver Options
We offer a range of insurance and waiver products that are designed to protect you, provided you comply with our rental terms.
Return with a Full Tank of Fuel
Your vehicle will be provided with a full tank of fuel. Make sure you fill up the tank before returning your vehicle; there is no fuel cost to pay provided this is done within 16 kilometres of the drop-off location. If you do not have time to fill the fuel tank, Hertz will do it on your behalf. We will charge you a price per litre to fill the tank plus a service charge for re-filling the tank for you.

Additional Drivers
Additional drivers can be added to your rental agreement. All drivers must be present when you collect your vehicle and will require a full driving licence and an additional form of identification.
Baby/Child Seats
Baby, infant and child seats can be added to your reservation. Seats can be booked in advance during the reservation process and payment will be taken at the pick-up location.
Payment Options
We offer you the following payment options when you reserve your vehicle online :
Pre-paid
You can access our cheapest rates by pre-paying in advance online. You will be charged for the standard rental rate and any additional fees relevant to your selection. Optional extras selected during your reservation will be charged in the local currency.
Pay at Location
If you prefer to pay at location, all charges including the rental rate, any additional fees relevant to your selection and optional extras selected during your reservation will be charged at the pick-up location in the local currency.
Payment Methods
Hertz accepts most major credit and debit cards, including CB Visa, Mastercard, and Amex (Electron and Jade payment cards not accepted). Cards must be in the driver’s name.
Deposit
At the time of pick-up we will take a deposit from your card. The amount of this deposit depends on the category chosen. This payment must be paid with a card issued in the name of the main driver.
Booking Confirmation
Once you have completed your reservation you will receive a Hertz confirmation number and a booking confirmation email to the address you provided.

Cancellations
We offer free cancellation within 7 days of making your reservation online. Alternatively, contact our Reservations Team on +687 26 18 22 (an admin fee will apply).
Amendments
You can make amends to your bookingonlineand free of charge up until 48 hours before your pick-up time. Alternatively, contact our Reservations Team on +687 26 18 22 (an admin fee will apply).
Picking up your vehicle
What You Need to Bring
You will need to bring the following items with you when you pick up your vehicle :
- Reservation details, including the reservation number, any rental voucher and the address and telephone number of the pick-up location.
- Your original, valid driving licenceand any necessary international driver’s permits (required where the main driving licence is in non-Latin characters).
- A credit card in the main driver’s name, to cover the cost of the rental and deposits. You must also present the credit card you booked with (if different).
- A third form of identification, such as a passport or identity card.
- A valid driving licence and additional ID for any additional drivers.
Finding Your Pick-Up Location
We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the branch location and opening hours before your journey. Your confirmation email will include the pick-up location information, including the address, opening hours and key contact details.
Arrival Time
Please do your best to arrive at the pick-up location at the time you selected at reservation and during the opening hours. If you wish to arrive outside of opening hours, please contact the pick-up location directly and our staff will tell you how to go about this.
Late or Cancelled Flights
If your flight is delayed or cancelled and you have provided us with your flight details in advance, then we will make arrangements to serve you. If you haven’t sent us your flight details, we recommend you contact the pick-up location as soon as you are aware of any delays or cancellations.
Your Rental Vehicle
Although we try to provide a car from the group or collection you reserved, in some circumstances we may have to provide a suitable alternative due to high demand.
Car Features Walk Through
If you would like our staff to demonstrate the vehicle’s practical features, please ask at the counter and they will be glad to help you.
Pre-Rental Damage Inspection
We clean and inspect all of our vehicles prior to renting them. A vehicle inspection will be performed with the counter agent before you drive away.
Using your Rental Vehicle
Rental Extensions
If you would like to use your vehicle for longer than originally booked, you will need to go to your Hertz branch.
What to do if you Experience Problems
If you have any problems with your vehicle please call our breakdown assistance on 266 900. You will find a set of useful telephone numbers on the sticker on the dashboard. Alternatively call the branch you picked up your car from (the number is available on your booking confirmation).
Road and Parking Fines
You are fully responsible for any fines issued during the rental. Any costs incurred by Hertz will be charged to you, plus an administration fee for our time dealing with the issue.
Returning Your Vehicle
Return Date and Time
The date and time at which you need to return your vehicle are stated on the booking confirmation and rental agreement. Our branches have individual opening hours so you should factor these in to ensure you are not left with any additional charges or unnecessary waiting around.
Late Return Charges
Please make every effort to return the vehicle at the agreed drop-off time or you may be charged for an extra day’s rental. Your return location may allow a limited grace period but this is entirely at its discretion.
Out of Hours Returns
If you wish to return your vehicle outside of opening hours you should discuss your options with our team at the start of your rental. If out of hours drop-off is permitted, you will remain responsible for the vehicle until the branch opens again.
Drop-off at a Different Location
It may be possible to return your rental to a different location, subject to the vehicle type you are renting and route that you intend to take. A One Way Fee may apply for this service and you will be advised of this at the time of reservation.
Post-Rental Damage Inspection
When you drop off your vehicle we will check that it was returned in the same condition as you found it upon pick-up. If any damage occurred we will apply a charge depending on the nature of the damage and the level of your insurance cover.
Return Fuel Level Check
When you return your vehicle we will check how much fuel is left in the tank. If appropriate, you will be charged for any difference in the fuel level on return and fuel level at pick-up, plus a service fee. Bring your fuel receipt with you when returning the vehicle to prove you recently filled up the tank in the event of a fuel gauge error.
After Drop-Off
Return Damage Inspection
At the drop-off location, a staff member will compare the condition of the vehicle against the Pre-Rental Inspection Form and record it on the Post-Rental Inspection Form for you to agree and sign (if present). You will be charged for any damage caused during your rental.
